Referral Disclosure
FTC compliance
The Federal Trade Commission requires anyone who recommends a product or service to disclose any financial relationship with the provider. Most contractor-lead sites bury this disclosure or hide it entirely. I put it everywhere it belongs.
What you should know
- I earn a referral fee. When you hire one of the two contractors I recommend on this site and the job closes, that contractor pays me a referral fee.
- The fee comes out of the contractor's revenue, not your wallet. Your invoice is identical to what it would be if you found that contractor directly. I do not bill you, surcharge you, or markup his pricing.
- I have personally used both contractors. I hired the roofer for my own home. I hired the water damage restoration crew for my own home. I would refer my own mother to them — and have done so, in essence.
- I will drop a contractor if I receive verifiable complaints about quality, honesty, or how they treat customers. My name is on this site; my reputation is the only thing I have to sell.
- I do not refer contractors I haven't personally hired. That is the entire premise of the site. If you ask me for a recommendation in a trade I don't cover — foundation, plumbing, HVAC, electrical — I will tell you honestly that I don't have a vouched-for referral, and may point you toward a general resource.
Why I structure it this way
Lead-aggregator sites like Angi, HomeAdvisor, and Thumbtack make their money by selling your contact information to multiple contractors at once. That model creates two problems: you get bombarded by competing calls, and contractors raise their prices to cover the cost of buying leads that may never close.
My model is different. I introduce you to one contractor — the right one for your problem. The contractor pays me a small fee at job close. No bidding war. No upcharge. No information sold downstream.
Who I am
I am Robert, a Mansfield resident and owner of Two Swords Digital Solutions, a DFW digital marketing agency. I built this site personally — it is not a Two Swords product. You can reach me directly at the phone number in the header of every page on this site, or via the form on the Get Help page.
Questions?
If anything on this page is unclear, call or text me. I'd rather answer the question than leave you wondering.
